every day here is a fucking nightmare
the sun slips into a coma
anxiety suspends the silence
the smoke bends and breaks
but the clouds always find us
your second wind has fallen behind
your second wind has fallen behind
as the sun cremates our skyline
one day I'll burn down this dreamscape
and leave nothing behind
and it's as if we've briefly found a cure for the dying
and it's as if we've briefly found a cure for the dying
the void resonates in the back of my eyes
you're a temptress building an empire
on ashes, blood, bone and profit
but those dollar signs are about to flat line
the last vapor speaks with a whisper
let the Rockies guide you home
let the Rockies guide you home
i'm sick and tired of this fools paradise
no one understands what's happening to us
and only we know why we're here
we cannot stop this flow of smoke
for it only slips through the cracks
filling up my lungs and counting down the years
certainty is so close, yet everything is still so obscure
we don't know what we want, all we know is that we want it now
certainty is so close, yet everything is still so obscure
we don't know what we want, all we know is that we want it now
we will never stop until we come face to face
stumbling from city to city
we will all decide when bend comes to break
we're done with all of these lies and this pity
just let the vultures have your flesh
but save your bones for yourself
just let the vultures have your flesh
but save your bones for yourself

Been listening to this since 2013. Eventually tried to track down a CD but now I'm starting to go digital. So, has 7 years of listening to this EP dulled the experience? Not even slightly. Amazing work. From Nathan's ghost beats on the snare, polyrhythmic measures and insane kick pedal work, Eric's unique tone on vocals and both Aaron and Josh's melodies and interesting structures. Just hope they get the chance to tour England soon. JAY DYER
